Explore the Old City, with a visit to the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. At the foot of the hill you see the Garden of Gethsemane. At the Wailing (or Western) Wall and view the temple area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. Walk the Via Dolorosa, passing by the Stations of the Cross and ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Visit the Bible Lands Museum, housing a fascinating collection of ancient treasures that reflect the various cultures of the Holy Land region in biblical times.

Explore Yad Vashem, a museum that honors the victims of the Holocaust. Visit St. Peter in Gallicantu, a modern church built in 1931, about halfway down the eastern slope of Mount Zion. Continue to the Tower of David, an ancient citadel located near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. The citadel was constructed during the second century BC and subsequently destroyed and rebuilt by, in succession, the Christian, Muslim, Mamluk and Ottoman conquerors of Jerusalem.
