Japan Walking Tour

Japan Walking

Activity Level: Moderate
Start / Finish: Kyoto / Kyoto

Amazing Grace

As an island nation, Japan’s fortunes are forever linked to its relationship with water. Nowhere are those ties stronger than along the shores of the Inland Sea, a geographic time capsule of ancient treasures and spellbinding views. Itsukushima Shrine’s famed floating torii (gate) welcomes us as we walk the terraced rice paddies, unspoiled citrus groves, majestic gorges and traditional fishing communities once patrolled by samurai. And in vibrant modern Hiroshima, we learn what it really means to be at peace. Tokyo is just the tip of Japan’s cultural iceberg. Our walking journey takes you deep into the heart of this amazing land to a place where tradition doesn’t just survive, it thrives.
