A Tale of (6) Arabian Nights
Vast, exotic, and dramatic in its contrasts, there is a lot to see in the Sultanate of Oman—but it won’t take us a Thousand and One Nights to show it to you. That’s because we’ve devised an itinerary that cleverly takes in all the highlights, whisking you from the capital to the interior, coast to mountains, to the isolated Musandam Peninsula and back again in just eight days. Our stay swings between wild and tamed, from urban comforts to donkey paths in the stately Hajar Mountains and, finally, to the door of a Six Senses oasis. But don’t be fooled by the “whisking” part—our explorations are nothing if not thorough, whether we’re following a safari guide across the desert or nosing into fishing ports along the Gulf of Oman. We make every one of our Arabian Nights count.

Day 1 Explore Muscat Old and New, including a private harbour cruise and dinner aboard a traditional dhow
Day 2 Walk along the coast to Oman’s oldest and most important souk near the seaport of Muttrah
Day 3 Explore the mountain villages of Jebal Akhdar before heading on to Nizwa, the ancient Omani capital
Day 4 Walk along the canyon wall of the massive Wadi an Nakhar, dubbed “the Omani Grand Canyon”
Day 5 Track wildlife through the desert before heading to the coast for a two-night stay at the sublime Six Senses Hideaway at Zighi Bay
Day 6 Discover the Musandam Peninsula by boat, passing dramatic fjords and plunging rock faces en route to the area’s main fishing port
Day 7 Breakfast in Zighi Bay, then salaam in Dubai
