Provence Walking Tour
Provence Walking
Activity Level: Moderate
Start / Finish: Avignon / Avignon

Still Perfect After All These Years Provence seems to move in slow motion, which is just fine with us. The relaxed pace of life here does not befit the harried or hasty; its narrow vineyard paths, secluded olive groves and limestone ridges take care of that. The wines are not to be rushed, either; once you’ve sampled a Côtes du Rhône or Côtes du Lubéron in its natural habitat, you’ll understand why. The food is also worth the wait—especially when you prepare it yourself with help from a skilled chef. And the atmosphere? Listen to Vespers at the abbey in Sénanque and you’ll see where we’re coming from. If patience is indeed a virtue, this is the Holy Land.
