Where In The World – Abu Simbel

The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock-cut temples in the Aswan region of Egypt.

The bas-reliefs represent scenes of various gods, the pharaoh, queen and battles.

The immense complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “Nubian Monuments”.

The complex was relocated in 1968 or it would have been submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser.
