A study by SEO Travel evaluated 100 AI-generated two-day itineraries for 10 popular destinations and found that 90 percent contained errors. These ranged from minor mistakes, such as recommending venues outside of opening hours (52 percent of itineraries), to more severe issues, including suggesting visits to permanently closed or non-existent places (24 percent of itineraries).

In Berlin, for example, Chat-GPT suggested an hour-long detour for a meal, only to return to a spot near the starting point.
