Sitting high above the city, the Parthenon is the most recognizable structure at the Acropolis of Athens. Completed in 432 BC, it served as a temple to the goddess Athena.
Hadrian’s Library was actually not Greek, but created by Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD 132. The library contained rolls of papyrus or “books” with reading rooms and lecture halls.
The Zappeion Hall was built for the 1896 Summer Olympics and subsequent games since then. It also serves as a conference and exhibition hall.
The parliament buildings also known as the Hellenic Parliament, was once the Royal Palace overlooking Syntagma Square.
