US Passport Application – Update May 2023
The State Department has some advice: apply or renew now. Wait times are long at 8-11 weeks for routine service and 5-7 weeks for expedited service at an extra cost of $60.
According to the department, the online option has been paused. Just like the price of almost everything else, passport fees have gone up and as of January, a first-time passport costs $165.
